A lesson in Being Rude….

Stabbed in the Back, Lied to, Abused, Mistreated, Let down, Broken, Discouraged, Pissed off, Angry, Hurt, Sad, Humiliated……..Just some of the Emotions I’ve felt in the last week or so… Normally I’m not a big “lets talk about our feelings” type girl…BUT COME ON, there is only so much a girl can take. Also, I’m usually a pretty fun and positive person!
I’ve had Several things happen to me recently that really made me feel most of those words…..Most of them revolve around rudeness, just in general. It’s amazing to me how people can be SO rude, to someone who is being SO nice to them. I see this ALL THE TIME at the coffee hut (If you don’t know, I work at my moms Coffee hut also) Today a woman got raging pissed over her failure to look at my menu to see that a white chocolate mocha is .25 more then a regular Mocha…..She FREAKED OUT ON ME over a quarter. A FREAKING QUARTER!!!!!
Once I had a man get so upset over his expensive coffee that after yelling all sorts of bad words and names at me, he pulled up, opened his door and threw all his garbage from his truck out on the driveway in front of 5 other cars…YEP PLAIN OL RUDE!!!
I recently had an image I took critiqued by someone claiming to teach me something…..He Made fun of my image, it was plain ol Rude, I learned nothing from the critique, I can learn from my mistakes, I can even laugh at myself, but not when someone is putting you down and laughing at you, especially when they are supposed to be helping you (and I paid for this???) TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL IN EVERY WAY!
I have Several friends, friends that LOVE my work, and really value my work, friends that show off the pictures that I took to all their friends and family, in turn creating more business for me, friends that truly love me, believe in me and support me. I”m not gonna go in depth on this aspect because I really value those people.
I”m not a big Bible “quoter” However there is a Bible verse that people think about all the time that really gets overlooked in the world, Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This is serious people! Treat your friends, family, co-workers, baristas, guy making your hamburger, guy mowing the grass at the park, people on the phone…EVEYRONE the same way you want someone to treat you when you come into contact with them. No matter where it is or who it is….. You affect other peoples lives, so a SINCERE smile and a GENUINE ”have a nice day” goes SO far with most people!
OH YEAH AND FYI if you are a big enough person to admit that you were TOTALLY rude to someone, you may think about going back and apologizing to them, I have had people do this before and it REALLY truly does make a difference to that person, and it speaks volume over the kind of person you are! We all have bad day, bad experiences, headaches, crazy children that drive us over the edge, but if those things have caused you to be rude to someone a small “I’m sorry about that time….” Will make you both feel better!!

SO…If you haven’t noticed I got rid of my web site….I shed a few tears when I had to pull the plug, but I think that life is going to be a little easier now! My BLOG site will do everything that my website did, except now it’s all in one spot!!! YAY FOR THAT! I try to keep everything easy, my shoots, my scheduling, my ordering and delivering….I TRY, becuase I know how frusterating it is when you get online to just do one thing and it ends up taking 4 hours….rrrrrrrrrrrr nothing drives me more crazy then wasting time on the computer!!!!
ANY-HOO This is it!!! Please let me know if you have any problems or decide that you really hate my new site, and miss my old, not updated, web site….hahaahaha
I’m still working on it a little, so I’m sure you’ll find things that say things like “this is a section where you can write all about yourself” or “Here you can put a gorgous picture of yourself”…..hahaha

Easter is almost here…..CRAZY!

I’ve been thinking of cute little girls in their easter dresses, and boys in little suits and ties out hunting easter eggs in the green grass!!!!!! I can not belive that easter is only a couple weeks away!!!CRAZY!!!!
Well, Today I got out my paint and tried to get creative!!!!! I wanted a really “springy” type background, so yellow, and flowers is what we got!!!
When Kiana came home from School today, I said “Kiana will you be my model” and of course she said yes, and this is what we got! Granted these are taken right in the kitchen, but still turned out very cute!!!! Studio pictures will come soon!!!! Enjoy! BTW, if you want some easter pics of your kiddos with my new chics, call me!!!

So for 2 days the promise of the weather being WARM and 60 degrees has haunted my house….Two days in a row, I told the kids “we’ll go to the park after school” BUT 58 degrees was FREAKING cold!!!!!! One day I got out of it by taking them to the dreaded DOLLAR STORE….YUCK…. BUT OH NO….Yesterday, we HAD to go to the park……It was cold, it was windy, it was a little rainy at times….but kids, kids just don’t care…..They ran, they climbed, they got hurt, they fell down, they went to fast down the slide, they went up the slide instead of down….Ah, the Park……..it’s part of being a mom I guess……

OK- So I know every year we get fooled here in Central Oregon.The sun will shine for a whole week. It will go from being 20 degrees to 60 degrees the next day……we get the glimmer of summer in our eyes…..We are once again in LOVE with the great place we live, sunny for 300 days a year, the big city is only 2 hours away, the lakes are only 45 minutes away, the grass is green, it doesn’t get TO hot in the summer…..THEN before we know it, it is taken away, and the glimmer of summer turns into 2 feet of snow and -10…………BUT, I’m really hoping that this is the year that Summer decides to come early, and we don’t get tricked
I went outside with Kaleb to ride bikes the other day, and much to my surprise I looked down and this is what I seen……”OMG NO WAY” I thought to myself…..But there it was…the first little crocus, bearing it’s beauty to me…….it made my whole day brighter because I really thought…..”YAY, summer is almost here”
So I get it now….

This Crazy thing happened to me the other day………….
So, I’m ALWAYS taking pics of my kiddos…..I mean, what mom doesn’t right? Well, I took my baby “Nana” is what we call her….but her real name is Kiana. I took her down to the Studio before Valentines Day to take pics of her for her valentines day cards! She was like a little super model in front of my camera, and was not at all like the child who will NOT let me take pictures of, (moms you know what I mean) She did everything I asked and tried on lots of new stuff, and new poses……THEN IT HAPPENED!
I came home and stuck the little card into the card reader and up the photos popped on my monitor…one after the other I ooooo’d and awwwww’d over…..each one better then the last…and as I looked at them tears came to my eyes…OMG where has time gone? How did my BABY get to be almost 7 years old???? Before I know it, she was going to be “to cool” for her mom…..it’s almost as if I had seen our lives flash before my eyes……..my water filled eyes…..
Now I get why when I show moms pictures of their babies, toddlers or their teenagers they cry so easily! It’s almost as if those pictures are proof of the work we have worked SO FREAKING hard to master, to keep alive and healthy…………*sigh*

OK- so not often do I ask for help….I hate asking for help, I pretty much think I can do everything on my own usually……but, not this time. I need some input from my friends, family and clients!
Recently I went to a seminar (see old posts) and listened to Kevin Kubota speak about branding….he gave us an exercise, to take 10 of your favorite pics, the ones that we love and that we strive to take, the ones that would say “Jenny took that picture” then take a list of words, and show them to your “people”. Ask those people to look at the photos and rather quickly come up with 3 words off the list that they think describe your photos. SO, that is what I’m doing. I grabbed 10 of my favorite pics, compiled them all and I’m showing them to you. All you have to do is 1. Look at the pictures pretty fast, I’m looking for first impressions, 2. Click on ”comment” at the bottom of this BLOG post and type 3 words off the list that you think describe my photos.

Who would have ever EVER thought that the dress that you have waited your whole life to buy, the one you fantasized about when you were ten, the one that when you are 20 you buy bridal magazines to figure out what kind of wedding you want to have…YES THAT DRESS….your Wedding dress…….Who would have ever thought that after your wedding you would want to have a “trash the dress” session….and totally “TRASH IT” but seriously these pictures turned out SO FREAKING AWESOME, I’m considering having my dress altered a few sizes to fit me (hahahahahah) so I can do one of these sessions myself……..On my last post I mentioned the soaking pool at McMenamins….what a treat! Its similar to a swimming pool, only closer to the temperature of a hot tub, only not quite so hot…..it was PERFECT….it was relaxing, it was energizing, it could be romantic, it was steamy, and a little creepy….all at the same time. I want to go back, just to sit in that thing! ANY HOO…..I got the honor of learning from Kevin Kubota at this PPO seminar. Kevin is an Awesome Teacher, and is so down to earth! There were like 60 other people down at the pool that morning and it was only about 30 degrees out!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…….
If you want to do a session like this, it is so much fun…..it can be any level of trashing you want….we can get your dress a little dirty or REALLY dirty it’s totally up to you! IN these photos we included the groom which was Awesome in the pool, and I’ve never seen a trash the dress session including a groom, so that was a nice change!!! FYI- girls, we can also do a trash the dress session with your prom dress! VERY COOL, and I can almost bet your BFF is not going to have those kinds of pics!!!!!!!!!
